A look at the 3rd general meaning of "Holy Spirit" that we find in scripture. This is separate and distinct from the first 2 we've looked at in HS 2 and 3. Since God the Father alone is referred to as holy, ( Rev 15:4), and He is a spirit, then it follows that our Father alone could have the title, The Holy Spirit, and this is indeed so. Christ is a holy spirit, angels can be holy spirits, but the Father has the Title. We look at various scriptures where "Holy Spirit" is denoting the Father Himself, in His person. The "Holy Spirit" is indeed a Person, and it is God the Father. We also look at where Satan would seek to claim the same title.

A look at the second general meaning of "holy spirit", that of which flows from God the Father to create life, to download data, and to establish His presence where and if He decides to. We also look at Satan in contrast to God, and why God will destroy him completely when it is time to do so. Multiple examples are given showing "holy spirit" in action, highlighting what flows from the Father. This accomplishes His will, and helps His fledgling sons and daughters.

A review of what God is up to with us, and a look at one of the 3 general meanings of "holy spirit" when we come across the phrase in scripture. To understand, we must begin to differentiate these 3 when we come across them in our study. Our spirit, which goes back to God upon our death, needs to become holy, just like our Father's, and that of our brother, the Christ. This is one meaning of "holy spirit" we need to become aware of, and consider in terms of what it means to us individually.

The argument over the meaning of "Holy Spirit" as found in the Bible, has been ongoing for millennia. Generally, people take the position of their respective denomination, and run with it. They couldn't be wrong could they? Maybe it just doesn't matter to some. The fact that it is used in the Bible, should make us want to know, it is part of the word of God. If we don't know what "holy" means, and we don't know what "spirit" means, then it isn't likely we'll know what "holy spirit" means. We look at how the Bible actually uses those terms, so that we might begin to understand what the Bible says when we come across the reference to "holy spirit" in the scriptures.

Leviticus 23:26-28 NKJV

And the LORD spoke unto Moses saying:

"Also the tenth day of this seventh month shall be the day of Atonement (Coverings). It shall be a holy convocation for you; you shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire to the LORD.

And you shall do no work on that same day, for it is the Day of Atonement (Coverings), to make Atonement (Covering) for you before the LORD your God. ..."
