What were the expectations of the peoples of Yeshuah' time as to what to expect from the coming Messiah? We know that the Pharisees sought a sign, so what did the Pharisees, the teachers of the day teach the people? What would the disciples have to unlearn in order to understand Yeshuah's death? We know that the prevailing thought was that the Messiah would come and restore Israel who was in subjection to Rome. Is this the thinking of the disciples, what they are looking for in the Messiah?
