Biblical Understanding based on the Record of Scripture
James likens life to a morning mist. It appears with the dawn and with the warmth of the sun soon disappears. Thus we have a limited time available to live. The presence of the Tree of Life suggests there is more to our existence than what we have in the flesh. Access to life everlasting is beyond human ability. It is a gift. As James notes it is available to doers who act on their belief.
